Thanks chick - I've just split this to create a new topic because it looked slightly out of place ;)

Nice choice of song for this sort of CD.

There was a dream that we both used to share
And we swore we would never wake
Now the dream's a nightmare,
and the truth to be fair
Is that dreaming was the first mistake.

Best of Irish perform on charity CD
Top talent showcased on album
Thursday, November 08, 2007

By Victoria O'Hara

An array of top Irish musicians are today showing their childish side for charity.

A collection of some of the most talented performers from Northern Ireland and the Republic have come together to back a Belfast-based charity's music project.

A total of 31 performers including Snow Patrol, Westlife, Ronan Keating and Mary Black have donated a track for the Tuesday's Child self-titled double album which is launched today.

Other top names featured on the album are Brian Kennedy, Cara Dillon, The 4 of Us and Kieran Goss.

They appear alongside David Ballantine, Siobhan Pettit, Brian Houston, Robert Fulton, Claire Sproule and Foy Vance.

Up-and-coming Belfast star Duke Special has also penned a new track for the album entitled Come Wander With Me.

And the eye-catching cover of the album, designed by Richard O'Connell from Design Ltd, Dublin, continues the childlike theme and features all the artists in their younger years.

Tuesday's Child is dedicated to bringing hope to the most vulnerable children, regardless of their nationality, circumstance, gender or beliefs.

All money raised from sales of the thousands of CDs which have been distributed across the province will go directly to supporting such projects throughout the world.

The charity - spearheaded by Belfast woman Orla Sheehan - hope it will be the number one selling record in Northern Ireland this Christmas.

She said: "The project has attracted the involvement of other top music professionals such as producer Jon Astley who has worked with Abba, The Who, George Harrison and Eric Clapton. And Enda Walsh of Amberville Studios recorded many of the local artists."

Ms Sheehan said she was "overwhelmed" by the support she received from all the artists approached to donate a track.

The charity plans to release the album in the Republic next March and across the UK at a later date.

Gary Lightbody, lead singer of Snow Patrol, said he felt being involved with a children's charity was important.

"I became an uncle for the first time around the same time we were asked to contribute to this album," he said.

"Upon my first hold of my niece Honey, I soon realised that without my sister and brother-in-law she would be helpless.

"So many children are born without the protection and love that my little niece has, and that is why charities like this are so important."

Former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating said every child deserves a good start in life.

"As a father of three wonderful kids, I am lucky to be able to provide them with what I hope is a great start in life.
Every child deserves nothing less
."
The Tuesday's Child album is on sale now.

I love it when he talks about his kids and about Yvonne too - he just goes all sentimental doesn't he? especially on tv interviews when they're mentioned and he just gets a massive grin on his face - bless him!
