Holiday
« on: June 26, 2006, 07:47:33 PM »

The time of the year is coming again when people go on holiday.

Let us please know here where you go and how it was.
And if you have questions before you go you can ask them here.
Maybe there are people from that country or people who have been there in the past.

Photos are welcome too.

I've just been on a short holiday - weekend away - with the family and we had a lot of fun. My real summer holiday will be a week in the south of Holland, a county called Brabant. We've rent a summerhouse in a holiday park in Oosterhout, close to Breda. We're only going for a week, but we have had two weekends away this year too and maybe I'm going on a short holiday with Cindy later in August. But that's not for sure yet.

Because of our farm we are only going for a week, because we need someone to replace us when we are away. And it's too expensive to go for two weeks then.

After two years of France we decided to stay in Holland again, a bit closer to home so we can be home soon when they need us at the farm. It never happened, but you never know.

I'm going to the Bodensee (southern Germany) at the end of July for 2 weeks. We've rented a house there ( a pretty big one) and I will also drive around the lake to Switzerland to visit a friend there whom I've met on through the Walk Ireland site. First time we meet each other....so that will be really cool. Am really looking forward to it.

I'm going to Egypt in august. I'm not going to do sightseeing.
I just want to lay down in the sun, read my books and sleep!

Have fun in Egypt Judith!
I want to go there some day, but not in the summer time.
Much to hot for me.

And 5 days to Ireland?
Wow that sounds like a real good holiday to me.
Specially when you are going to meet up with friends too.

I've only just started my new job so can't really ask for too much time off, but I don't normally go away on holiday anyway. I'm happy just to stay at home and relax. If I were to go anywhere though, it would be to Ameland (Dutch island).

Why would you go to Ameland Janina??

Aren't you going to some of Ronans gigs in the UK? That also counts to a holiday to me. This year I'm not going there, too busy here with so many things. Have been thinking about an August concert though, but not sure about it.

Next year, new tour I'm coming to the UK again, but that's also a holiday for me. Just had to let go of two holidays like that this year.

We used to go on family holidays to Ameland and it is just the most beautiful little place, so quiet.

Yeah I've got a few more gigs coming up, possibly Zurich this month and then Kenwood House next month, but those trips will be so short it nearly doesn't count lol. I'm seeing James Blunt this month as well but he's playing near me so I'm not travelling for that, and seeing Joshua Kadison a few more times in Aug/Sept.
